On December 12, 2031, five hundred years will have passed since the Mother of God left her image on Saint Juan Diego's tilma. Guadalupe 500 is the road of annual pilgrimages to Tepeyac, guided by Azucena Cierco, to prepare our hearts — and those of hundreds of thousands — for that appointment.

En diciembre de 1531, en el cerro del Tepeyac, la Santísima Virgen María se apareció a San Juan Diego y se presentó como «la perfecta siempre Virgen Santa María, Madre del verdadero Dios». Como señal, dejó su imagen impresa milagrosamente en su tilma — un ayate que, contra toda explicación, sigue intacto casi cinco siglos después. In December 1531, on the hill of Tepeyac, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to Saint Juan Diego and presented herself as "the perfect ever-Virgin Holy Mary, Mother of the true God." As a sign, she left her image miraculously imprinted on his tilma — a cactus-fiber cloth that, against all explanation, remains intact nearly five centuries later.
